MAVIN, a family-owned business in Amish Country, is celebrating 50 years of making sustainable wood products with old skills and new techniques—after its mill burned in 2017, the company rebuilt quickly and resumed work by April.

An arctic front is moving into Ohio today, dropping temperatures into the 20s and bringing the season’s first frost across many areas — northern counties near Lake Erie may see their first lake-effect snow into early next week.
Residents are urged to prepare as the cold blast will push subfreezing conditions well into the upcoming days.
A longtime resident said a small woods (which has sheltered deer, turkey vultures, and other wildlife for 23 years) will be cleared soon to make way for new houses.
