- ➤ Columnist John Lorson helped his wife Kristin paint a white base coat for her race-themed mural at an auto body shop and said he found joy in the simple task. - ➤ The DAR Wooster-Wayne Chapter is researching and restoring the graves of local Revolutionary War patriots in Wayne County in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. The group confirmed 44 grave sites in 30 cemeteries across 15 townships and held a dedication event this past summer at Grace Church. The Bargain Hunter

- ➤ Ohio lawmakers passed HB-65 this past July to name the second full week of November as Soil Health Week, urging farmers and local groups to care for the state’s soils. - ➤ Chief Deputy Recorder Karen Sturgis retired after more than 30 years of service at the Wayne County Recorder’s Office—she began her career in 1995 and earned respect for her love of history and commitment to preserving county records. The Bargain Hunter
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Hiland sophomore Addisyn Mast earned District 5 Division VI Player of the Year and her coach Kelly Miller was named Coach of the Year by the District 5 Volleyball Coaches Association — marking top honors for local volleyball. Other area athletes, including Hiland's Brianna Mishler and Olivia Williams who earned first-team honors and Alayna Yoder who received an honorable mention, were also recognized. The Bargain Hunter
