- ➤ A Fall Festival will take place at Tuscora Park on Oct. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. with free pumpkin painting by Simpson Salute — advance registration is required and a costume contest at 3 p.m., rides, face painting, mini golf and a fall menu will also be offered, with a rain date on Oct. 26. - ➤ The City of Wooster is installing communication boards in two parks to help kids and adults with language barriers, with boards now in Christmas Run Park and Freedlander Park and more coming soon. A ribbon-cutting is set for 3 p.m. tomorrow at Christmas Run Park—this project began after local resident Stacey Everhart raised concerns when her son struggled to communicate. The Daily Record

- ➤ Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. on Nov. 2—clocks will be set back to standard time, bringing earlier sunsets as winter nears. Ohio lawmakers have pressed for permanent daylight saving but their resolutions remain pending. The Daily Record
