- ➤ Holmes County Commissioners passed a proclamation in the Old Jail meeting room in Millersburg on Oct. 6 to name October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month—OneEighty reported a rise in clients from 95 last year to 171 so far and will host the 'In Her Shoes' presentation on Oct. 15 at its Millersburg office and Survivors’ Day on Oct. 18 at 104 Spink St in Wooster—with reservations required. - ➤ Laceyville was a busy 19th century community with an inn, post office, store, school, and orchestra—built by Major John S. Lacey in 1842. A roadside marker now stands along U.S. Route 250 to honor the village that vanished in the late 1930s when Tappan Lake was created. The Bargain Hunter
