- ➤ The Wayne County Health Department and Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will host a market-style pop-up food pantry on Oct. 14 at 244 W. South St. in Wooster from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.—it will serve eligible low-income families, including those with mobility issues, and will later switch to a drive-thru format. The Daily Record

- ➤ Starting Nov. 6, Starbucks will bring back its holiday drinks and Red Cup Day with simple favorites like peppermint mocha, iced gingerbread chai and later eggnog and chestnut praline lattes. The company will also launch a limited-edition Hello Kitty merchandise collection including festive drinkware — Ohio stores and select grocers already offer holiday coffees and creamers for early fans. - ➤ College of Wooster planted 21 Black Tupelo wildfire trees outside Kauke Hall with help from alum Paul Abbey—founder of nonprofit Rooted in Trees. The trees, sourced from a Lake County nursery and admired for their fall color, add shade and honor the college’s tree mission as part of its Tree Campus U.S.A program. The Daily Record
- ➤ The College of Wooster will host Gregory Robinson, a celebrated chemistry professor from the University of Georgia, for the Helen Murray Free Lecture on Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Ruth W. Williams Hall—he will also deliver a technical talk at 11 a.m. that day under the series honoring alumna Helen Murray Free. The Daily Record
- ➤ Holmes County’s Girl Scouts Troop 338 earned six rank advancements and 22 merit badges at a recent summer Court of Honor at NewPointe Community Church—recognizing awards such as the Scouting for Clean Waterways Badge and the Pipestone Award—and the troop saw a leadership change as new Scoutmaster Rebecca Schlabach took over from outgoing Melissa Biltz.
