- ➤ Costco announced a recall for Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene because the sparkling wine bottles sold between April 25 and August 26, 2025 may shatter even without being used—customers in Ohio and other states should safely dispose of the bottles as instructed and may receive a refund if they got a recall letter. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spotted lanternflies are about to enter their breeding season and residents are urged to scrape off small—gray egg masses into soapy water or rubbing alcohol to slow the pest’s spread; in May, Ohio’s agriculture department expanded the quarantine to 18 counties to protect local crops and trees. This invasive insect first appeared in Ohio in 2020 and can damage plants by feeding on them and producing sugary honeydew. The Daily Record
