- ➤ Wooster residents will have access to free groceries on Sept. 15 when the Wayne County Health Department and Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank host a market-style pop-up pantry at 244 W. South St.—the event offers food along with information from local agencies and follows last month’s service to over 125 families. The Daily Record
- ➤ The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary is hosting its Coats for Kids Project—an event that gives free winter coats to children from infants through 12th grade—at First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster on October 11th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and parents must bring photo ID, a birth certificate, Social Security or Medicare cards, and proof of address and income. - ➤ On Sept. 20, the Parade of Lights will start at noon at Holmes County Fairgrounds, where truck drivers can register before joining the convoy that travels through Holmes and Wayne counties to end in Kidron — the $20 entry fee will help support a local family in need. Fans along the route will have a chance to watch the trucks and enjoy food and fellowship during the event. The Bargain Hunter
- ➤ On Tuesday, 4H animal shows at the fair attracted large crowds of families and friends who watched shows that lasted for hours—each performance showcased a range of animal skills. The Daily Record
- ➤ On September 10, 2025, the Wayne County Fair ended many 4-H projects with two simultaneous animal auctions that raised over $50,000 from 28 donated items and a quilt giveaway that provided 436 quilts to veterans. - ➤ The Wayne-Holmes Suicide Prevention Coalition will host a free seminar on Sept 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holmes County Health District at 2600 Glen Drive in Millersburg to teach CALM—Counseling on Access to Lethal Means—and QPR techniques.
