- ➤ Kids had a busy day at the Wayne County Fair on September 8 when local school bands performed, animal shows featured poultry and swine, and long lines formed for rides — the event provided a bustling schedule for children and families. The Daily Record
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary celebrated scholarship winners and volunteer contributions at its annual awards banquet earlier this summer. Four students got one-time $1,500 awards while 43 volunteers and 19 prayer partners received pins and service bars—funds that help buy new transport vans and needed supplies. The Daily Record
- ➤ Ohio State University Extension and Wooster Community Hospital will offer the Dining with Diabetes program, a four-session course held Thursdays, Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium—each session starts with a meal and covers meal planning, carbohydrate counting and other diabetes topics, while a holiday session on Oct. 30 offers tips for healthy holiday meals at a cost of $25 per person and $10 per support person.
