COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Catalyst Christian Camp is planned on the grounds of the former Mohican Hills Golf Course and will host camp events in the near future.  The Daily Record

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Two new roundabouts were installed in Wayne County by the end of August—one at State Route 585 and Geyers Chapel and the other at Smithville Western and North Honeytown.  The Daily Record
  • At a meeting on Aug. 28th, the Lawrence Township Board of Trustees reviewed zoning issues including a 30-day extension for a Mabel Drive farm owner to meet regulations and a proposal for underground utility lines in Wilkshire Hills—Road Supervisor Perry Myers updated trustees on road repairs with Ridge Road closed until Sept. 12th and approved a Cargill salt contract.  The Bargain Hunter

HEALTH NEWS

  • Ohio Farm Bureau will launch new health coverage plans that provide benefits including medical, dental, vision and mental health through United Healthcare’s network effective January 1—targeting self-employed members and farm households. Informational webinars are scheduled for Sept 30, Oct 28 and Nov 25 to explain plan details.  The Daily Record
