- ➤ On Wednesday, Sept. 10 the Wayne County Junior Fair will feature dual auction rings with the dairy products sale starting at the Coliseum at 11 a.m. and the livestock sale following in the Event Center—an updated format that will shorten the process and support local 4-H and FFA members. - ➤ The Salvation Army at the Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center is getting ready for Christmas by asking for volunteers and donors for its Angel Tree, Christmas Food Box, and Red Kettle programs; registration starts on Oct. 1—clients must show proof of address, income, and ID by Nov. 11 for Angel Tree and by Dec. 3 for the Food Box. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Wooster Daily Record released Wayne/Holmes County high school football power rankings for week 2, noting Triway’s 36-14 win over Norwayne that moved them into second place—Hillsdale topped the rankings with a 31-0 shutout while teams like Loudonville, Rittman, and Dalton also won their games and Wooster remains winless.
