- ➤ At Friday's Holmes County Fair, a dairy show, dairy auction and animal auctions drew many fairgoers while dairy exhibitors netted $20,400—funds that will be divided among exhibitors with items including engraved wooden crates and handmade planters. The Daily Record
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Access Tusc Transit will end Saturday service and change its ride cancellation policy starting Sept. 1. New hours will be Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. — riders must cancel at least two hours before a ride or face a half-fare charge for no-shows after a review showed an 11% rise in weekday trips. - ➤ Three local high school girls soccer teams are gearing up for a season that begins August 15. Hiland lost several players to graduation and will depend on senior Chanelle Kellogg — Triway is rebuilding after losing 10 key players and Waynedale will start more defensively while adding four freshmen. - ➤ Local high school volleyball teams are set to begin their season on August 15th — Smithville is building on last season's success with returning players and new roles, while Waynedale and Central Christian plan to boost their squads with young talent and experienced athletes.
