Good morning, Wooster.

Orrville Area United Way awarded $30,000 in Further Together grants to eight nonprofits to help fund projects like forensic tools, freezers and programs in Dalton, Marshallville and Orrville — a review committee picked winners from 18 proposals.

The next chance to apply for funding will open Aug. 6 through Sept. 5 for the 2026 Sustaining Grant.

A new guide has been released to help Wooster families pack an emergency go bag with key supplies (including food, water, a first aid kit, chargers and a flashlight) for severe weather, power outages or unrest, while recommending a 72 hour kit for basic needs.

Weaver Custom Homes has been given the green light to build an 84-unit single and multifamily housing development on the north end of Wooster—on acreage set aside for housing—and planning will move forward before construction begins.
