- ➤ The 70th Tuscarawas County Soap Box Derby took place on June 7 on Wabash Hill in New Philadelphia and will send 10 champions from three divisions to the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championships in Akron from July 14 to 19. The winners are Silas Ecenbarger from Dennison in the Stock Division, Olivia Hartzler from Wooster in the Super Stock Division, and Emma Davis from New Philadelphia in the Masters Division—seven rally racers also earned spots by gathering points this season.
