Good morning, Wooster.

Downtown Wooster will host its June Cruise-In on Friday, June 20 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with road closures starting at 5:30 p.m. as classic cars, live rock music by Blackout + tacos from Oma Gourd's food truck set the stage for a free community event with first-come, first-served parking.

A new article reviews the historic family mausoleums at Wooster Cemetery, detailing the monuments constructed by the Larwill, Jones, Wertz and Cheyney families that honor early settlers.

The report highlights a Larwill granite monument built in 1904 and a Victorian chapel built in 1883 for services—showing a lasting link to Wooster’s heritage—and explains how these structures mark key moments in local history.

James Thiessen has been named vice president, private client, senior relationship manager at Farmers National Bank and will work from Wooster to serve local clients.

He brings over 25 years of management experience in financial services—along with a strong record of community involvement—into his new role.

OSU Extension educator Kaitlynn Henninge advises locals to choose firm, fully colored strawberries and store them in the refrigerator after a quick rinse to keep their nutrients.

Henninge explained that using frozen berries in smoothies, desserts, and salads helps enjoy the fruit’s health benefits such as vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber + strawberries cannot ripen once picked.
