- ➤ At the BPA National Leadership Conference held May 7—11 in Orlando, two Buckeye Career Center students won national championships as Madison Harmon took first place in Fundamental Word Processing and Danny Dews won the national title in Personal Finance Management. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Tuesday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Wayne County Health Department and Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will host a market-style food pantry at 244 W. South St., Wooster for families at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level—volunteers are needed to help one hour before and 30 minutes after the event while keeping nearby parking for clients and staff open. - ➤ Asian Longhorn Ticks are spreading in southern Wayne County and can reproduce rapidly—laying up to 2,000 eggs—while posing risks to both livestock and people; local experts advise controlling vegetation, checking for ticks often, and consulting veterinarians on effective treatments, with OSU Extension offering tick testing services and hosting informational booths at upcoming Mt.
