- ➤ Regional events invite community participation this week, from Main Street Music at Downtown Wooster Pavilion on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (featuring Ashley Gulla, Benjamin Callender, and Bobby T) to Saturday’s Farmers Market and the ongoing Glass in Flight Exhibit at Kingwood Center in Mansfield. - ➤ County officials and students planted a ceremonial white oak at Wooster High School on May 18 to honor America’s 250th anniversary. Officials said the tree is meant to remind the community of the nation’s legacy while additional trees will be planted at other schools and public spaces soon. The Daily Record

- ➤ Muslims in Wooster celebrate Eid al-Adha today by attending prayers, enjoying traditional meals, and sharing food with the community. The holiday commemorates Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son (with one-third of the meat given to those in need). The Daily Record

- ➤ Ohioans often misspell 'because' and 12 local spellers will compete today at the Scripps National Spelling Bee at Constitution Hall in Washington DC + semifinals air from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on ION. The Daily Record
- ➤ Ohio fourth graders can use the new 4th Grade History Pass for free admission to participating museums with a paid adult, and in July they may also bring up to three family members (the pass is valid through Aug. 31). The Daily Record

- ➤ On May 26, The Winking Lizard Tavern was named best sports bar in the nation by USA Today Sports Readers' Choice Awards. The 15-location chain operates across Northeast Ohio, including one in Columbus. The Daily Record
- ➤ Triway’s Titans earned an 18-7 record and returned to districts by hosting No. 14 Warren Champion at Carmichael Field on May 26. The team, led by four senior captains, will face the winner of the Lakeview-Garfield matchup in a district final on May 28. The Bargain Hunter
- ➤ West Holmes' boys and girls track teams earned multiple regional spots today with seven top-four finishes in throws, relays, and distance races at the Division III St. Clairsville District meet.
