COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Wilderness Center in Wilmot will host its Ales for Trails fundraiser on Saturday, May 31 from 1-4 p.m., where local breweries, food vendors, and live music will help raise funds for conservation and education programs—tickets cost $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers with online registration required. Guests must be 21 and older, and a $10 option is available for designated drivers.  The Bargain Hunter
  • American Legion Post 68 will host its fourth annual Car and Truck Show on Sunday, June 1 at 1901 Sylvan Road in Wooster with registration open from 11 a.m. to noon and the event lasting until 3 p.m. Registration is $10 per vehicle—participants in the first 50 vehicles will receive dash plaques and proceeds will benefit the Veterans Home, veterans’ services and Toys for Tots, with a rain date set for June 8.  The Bargain Hunter

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wooster City Schools will host a mini-golf and go-cart fundraiser on Saturday, May 31 at Acres of Fun — the event will start at 9 a.m. with coffee from Ott's and include a mini-golf scramble, bottle cap mural project and a celebrity mascot go-cart race to support mentorship at Edgewood Middle and Wooster High.  The Daily Record

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wayne County Health Department keeps residents safe by providing vaccines, clean water tests, emergency planning, restaurant inspections, and programs for nutrition, safety, and wellness. It runs a monthly pop-up food pantry and will hold its second annual Health Fair on July 19 at 10 a.m. — at 244 W. South St. in Wooster.  The Bargain Hunter
