EDUCATION NEWS

  • John Yost from OSU Extension said local livestock producers should begin spring care by following label directions for vaccines, using proper needles, and taking steps to control flies with larvicides and insecticide ear tags (keep products cold and follow proper injection techniques). Yost will meet producers at the Mount Hope auction booth on the second and fourth Wednesdays, and events like Small Grains Field Day on June 18, the Dairy Summit on July 15, and a cow feeding clinic on Aug. 8 are planned.  The Daily Record

HEALTH NEWS

  • OSU Extension educator Kaitlynn Henninge says families should use waterproof sunscreen with SPF 30 to 50 every one or two hours plus wear wide-brimmed hats, UPF clothing, and neon swimwear, drink water regularly, and seek shade to stay safe as summer break nears.  The Daily Record

  • Airport Ridge Sporting Clays features a 12-station orange course + a 18-station black course and a 16-station gray course that give local enthusiasts varied options in shooting practice.  The Daily Record
