- ➤ Wooster will host its annual Ladies Night Out on May 22 from 4:30–7:30 p.m. in downtown, where 38 local businesses, live music by DJ Joe Villegas, and free swag bags for the first 400 guests set the stage for a fun evening. Guests will use a passport (with a 'Golden Girls' theme) to enter a raffle for gift baskets while free samples and food and drinks are available rain or shine. The Bargain Hunter
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Ohio released its 2024 baby names list, and Oliver and Charlotte topped the chart for boys and girls respectively, as reported by the Social Security Administration. The state's top five names—Oliver, Noah, Theodore, Liam and Henry for boys and Charlotte, Amelia, Olivia, Evelyn and Sophia for girls—differ from the national picks—Olivia for girls and Liam for boys. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ODOT and Holmes County officials met in Charm on May 6 to review five safety options for the intersections along SR 557 and CR 201, and they selected alternative five as the best plan based on safety and cost. Public feedback is invited until June 5 and construction is set to begin in spring 2028 — funding is secured and any needed land purchases will be discussed. The Bargain Hunter

- ➤ Norwayne ended its WCAL perfect run with a 6-3 win over Hillsdale on Friday; the Bobcats improved to 14-0 after CJ Moore pitched a complete game (with eight strikeouts) and MaKenna Heyden’s early hit set the tone. They will host Triway on Monday at 5 p.m. The Daily Record
