EDUCATION NEWS

  • On April 24, the College held an all-campus budget meeting where VP David Jones reported a forecasted $3.5 million deficit for fiscal 2025—$2.1 million below the approved budget and $3.5 million higher than last year's surplus. He said his team will review expenses and launch new initiatives to counter a predicted 20% enrollment drop to about 1,557 full-time students in fiscal 2026 while aiming for surplus revenue by fiscal 2029 and 2030.  The Wooster Voice
  • College of Wooster President Anne McCall threw the ceremonial first pitch at Wrigley Field on April 27 — receiving pitching tips from the baseball coach and athletic director — as over 50 alumni, prospective students and families cheered an event that celebrated strong Chicago connections.  The Daily Record

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Fighting Scots men's lacrosse team won 12—6 against the Wabash College Little Giants at John P. Papp Stadium last Saturday, April 26th. Key players such as Kellogg—who surpassed 200 career points—helped secure a playoff spot in the NCAC tournament with a solid performance on both offense and defense.  The Wooster Voice
  • On April 27, the Fighting Scots beat the Bethany College Bison by a score of 5 to 4 in Wooster’s senior day game—improving their record to 22 to 14 overall and 11 to 3 in conference play. The team will face Kenyon in a doubleheader today before hosting Westminster on May 4.  The Wooster Voice
