- ➤ A variety of events are planned next week in Wayne and Holmes including a free talk with Broadway star Alex Brightman at Wooster High School Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, April 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., a speaker and lawn games night at Paint Valley Equipment and a carryout meal at Jeromesville Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 17; a skating fundraiser at Acres of Fun from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday will support mental health services, and a comedy show at Amish Country Theater on Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. offers family-friendly entertainment. - ➤ In 1975, Rick Blackburn opened the Hero House and it quickly became a favorite among Wooster diners. Now celebrating 50 years, the eatery continues to serve its trusted subs (a tradition that shows no sign of ending). The Daily Record
- ➤ At its annual service awards dinner held Saturday at Greystone Event Center, Wooster Brush Company honored 32 employees for reaching service milestones from 20 to 45 years as over 440 employees, former workers and guests gathered to celebrate. Company President Ben Maibach and Vice President Jamie Ebert presented the awards—showing the firm’s appreciation for long-term dedication. The Daily Record
