- ➤ John Giltner of Triway High School was named Ohio's DAR American History Teacher of the Year for 2025. He was nominated by the Wooster-Wayne Chapter and received the award at the 126th State Conference Awards Luncheon on March 22. The Daily Record
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio’s spring wild turkey hunting season is set to start soon. Youth hunters will hunt on April 12 and 13, while South zone hunters begin on April 19 and Northeast hunters on May 3—each season allows one bearded turkey and requires proper permits. The Daily Record
- ➤ Ohio banned Bradford pear trees for harming the ecosystem by outcrossing and crowding out native species—ODNR and the Ohio State Extension now recommend planting native alternatives like serviceberry and eastern redbud.
