- ➤ Ohio residents who plan to fly must get a REAL ID before airport security checks begin in May since a regular driver’s license will not be accepted and the deadline is May 7. Residents can visit any BMV office with required documents to prove identity and Ohio residency — fees are $24.50 for a four-year card or $48 for an eight-year card, and new cards are issued within 10 business days.
