COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Bishop's Restaurant, a Wooster staple since 1959, is facing economic hardship and staffing shortages while owner Brittany Andriessen works to revive its drive-in atmosphere and expand community events. She trimmed the hours to 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Wed-Sat—social media support has strengthened her resolve—and plans to host car shows and cookouts if challenges are overcome.  The Daily Record
  • Wayne and Holmes counties offer five events this week that include a comedy show at Lincoln Way Vineyards on March 26, indoor amusement rides at Harvest Ridge Event Center from March 28 to March 30, a free fraud workshop at Greystone Event Center on March 28, a Johnny and June Cash tribute at Amish Country Theater on March 29, and a 1920s-themed murder mystery party at Minglewood Distilling Company in Wooster on March 29. Ticket prices range from free to $65 + each event provides a special local outing.  The Daily Record

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Livestock owners are warned that rising early spring temperatures and 85% humidity may stress animals, leading to signs like panting and reduced feed consumption—conditions that could affect high production livestock. OSU Extension’s John Yost advises farmers to provide clean water, proper barn ventilation and fewer crowded pens—steps aimed at reducing heat stress as new educational programs are planned.  The Daily Record
