COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Wooster Masonic Lodge celebrates 210 years + its current building dates to 1916 and it once had over 1,200 members, marking a long-standing place in the community.  The Daily Record

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pastor Ken Staley spoke today at Faith Church of Pleasant Grove and Harrisville Methodist Church, explaining that true righteousness comes from Jesus rather than from human efforts like using fig leaves. He used biblical examples (such as Adam and Eve) to show that only the cross offers real redemption.  The Bargain Hunter
  • Muslims in the community prepare to celebrate Eid al-Fitr as the new crescent moon (marking the start of Shawwal) is expected on the night of March 18 or 19. Local mosques will hold prayers and festive meals to end Ramadan.  The Daily Record

HEALTH NEWS

  • Costco is recalling its Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers in Ohio and Kentucky who bought items with sell-by dates from March 5 to March 16 should return the product for a full refund.  The Daily Record

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Sunday, March 15, 2026, wrestlers competed at the OHSAA tournament in Columbus where Waynedale athletes won overtime matches and several competitors secured pins in key weight classes. The event showcased a range of results across Division II and III.  The Daily Record
  • The Wayne/Holmes County Athlete of the Week poll is open until 5 p.m. Wednesday and features top performances from March 9-14.
