  • This week, Wooster honored local community leaders and saw business changes + public safety teams continued their efforts to keep residents safe. More updates will come as these developments progress.  The Daily Record
  • The Wayne County Veterans Service Commission will honor Vietnam veterans at its third annual Recognition Luncheon (noon on March 27 at Greystone Event Center, 50 Rifle Road in Wooster). Retired Wayne County Sheriff and veteran Sgt. Ken Kitchen will deliver the keynote address.  The Bargain Hunter

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Wayne County Historical Society will host Dennis Stroughmatt et L’Esprit Creole for its Voices from the Past Series on March 29 at 2 p.m. in the Schoolhouse (546 E. Bowman St.). Tickets cost $15 at the Historical Society and Murr Printing.  The Bargain Hunter
  • Pastor Ken Staley of Faith Church of Pleasant Grove + Harrisville Methodist Church shares a Lenten message about crossing from separation to fellowship with God through Jesus' sacrifice, stressing that trust in him grants immediate eternal life.   • On Saturday, March 7, youth basketball games saw the Bulls win 30-17 over the Warriors, the Vikings beat the Cavs 18-10, the Spartans defeat the Vikings 40-28, and the Huskies edge the Tar Heels 13-12; standings show Tar Heels perfect in one group while Vikings lead the other.  The Bargain Hunter
  • The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association selected the 2026 All-Northeast Inland District high school basketball teams, honoring top players and coaches from nine counties in awards announced on March 9, including standout winners like Trey Drexler (boys) and Maddie Lepley (girls).  The Daily Record
