GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wooster residents will set their clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 8. State lawmakers continue to debate a measure to permanently observe daylight saving time as the proposal remains pending in the 136th assembly.  The Daily Record

SPORTS NEWS

  • Dalton lost the Division VI district final to Richmond Heights last Saturday. The Bulldogs' offense faltered while the Spartans scored 48 to 37 and senior guard Honor Hall made three 3-pointers to help secure the win.  The Daily Record
  • Triway girls basketball defeated Keystone in the district final to win the championship; the team celebrated the hard-earned victory on the court.  The Daily Record
  • Smithville girls beat Rootstown 43-38 on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Norwayne High School to win their second straight Division VI district title. Coach Eric Nickles said the team overcame aggressive traps — keeping steady play to secure the win.  The Daily Record
  • Norwayne girls basketball beat Lake Catholic to win the district championship in a close high school game that rallied local supporters.  The Daily Record
