- ➤ The Wayne County Dog Shelter will host its 10th annual Bow Wow Ball on Feb. 14 at the Greystone Event Center in Wooster from 5 to 10 p.m. The event will feature auctions, dinner, a wine and bourbon pull, and live entertainment to support medical care and a new Mobile Adoption Unit. - ➤ Southern Wayne County Citizens for Safety will host a public meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church to discuss local safety issues, including road conditions and emergency response. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Jan. 12, the West Holmes Board of Education held its annual meeting at West Holmes High School where officers were elected & a 2026 meeting schedule was approved. The board set meetings at 6 p.m. with sessions rotating among district buildings, including Feb. 17 at Killbuck Elementary. The Bargain Hunter

- ➤ Hiland boys basketball defeated Triway 63-19 on Jan. 13 and beat Dover 36-30 on Jan. 10, while the girls won 56-15 over Garaway on Jan. 12 and 59-17 against Indian Valley — strong wins capped a busy week. The Bargain Hunter
