- ➤ Wayne County Health Department and Akron Canton Regional Foodbank will host a pop-up food pantry on Jan. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Wooster office (244 West South St.) to offer drive-through food assistance to eligible families. The Daily Record
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ GhostBox Productions will host a workshop on Sunday, Jan. 18 from two to four p.m. at Clary Gardens to preview its musical, The Secret Garden, and help participants prepare for auditions. Auditions are set for Feb. 21 and Feb. 22, with performances planned for July. The Bargain Hunter
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Genesis HealthCare System has limited hospital visitation amid a rise in respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, flu and RSV. Only visitors age 18 (immediate family with up to two per patient) who are symptom free will be allowed to visit to protect patients. The Bargain Hunter
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ High school sports take center stage this Saturday in Wayne County as Northwestern High School hosts its Husky Invitational at 10 a.m., and basketball games feature Wooster at Orrville at 7:30 p.m., Norwayne at New London at 2:30 p.m., and Waynedale at Ashland at 1:30 p.m. The Daily Record
- ➤ On Jan. 3, the Black Bears bowled at Legacy Lanes during the River View Invite and finished second after falling one pin short in the final round (senior Carter Hammersley led with a 567 series). The Bargain Hunter
- ➤ On Jan. 3, the River View girls bowling team won the championship at Legacy Lanes with final game scores of 183-101 and 194-146. The Lady Bears advanced with strong qualifying totals and match-play wins. The Bargain Hunter
